The American Hotel and Lodging Association said that resort fees pay for a range of hotel amenities, such as pool use, gym access, towel services, Wi-Fi, newspapers, shuttle service, daily parking. They state that the resort fee is a payment for a group of services.

Resort fees are charged by resorts, casinos, and other hotels on a nightly basis, not per stay. These fees are also typically charged on a per room basis, not per person, and may be disguised as destination fees,  facility fees  or amenity fees .

Virtually every casino offers a players card, and virtually every casino players club offers you some sort of incentives to use the card. Because joining is free, there is no reason to not become a member and start enjoying all the perks of your time spent in the casino!

Additionally, "free play" is a way for the casino to control the amount of money that is spent within their establishment. It also allows the casino to offer a prize without directly giving out cash, which may have legal and regulatory implications.
